Can someone please help me on some definitive advice on upgrading Vista to the corresponding Windows 7 on my Vaio VGN-FW11S which I purchased back in March, therefore ineligible for the upgrade pack. The only info on the Sony website refers to this free upgrade - I realise I will have to pay for a copy, but I don't want to cause the computer to run even worse than it does with Vista (if that's possible). I intend to upgrade rather than perform a clean install - will this work ok with the pre-installed Vista? Also, what issues are there with drivers? I'm hearing about people having problems with the S1,S2, volume and AV buttons, will these cease to work? I want to be assured that any problems that may occur have an effective work-around.
I have always wanted a Vaio, and have always liked Sony, but I must say that I'm extremely disappointed by Sony's apparent total lack of any support for upgrades on the machines purchased before June! Anyway, if anyone can offer any advice on my endeavour, I will be eternally grateful!
