Wireless card problems with Vista SP1

after Windows updates to SP1 my wireless card stops working. everything appears to be fine in network management, the computer diagnoses it as being switched off on the front of the laptop. the switch is on but the green light is not after the service pack.

im using a Sony Vaio VGN-NR21J/S
the network adapter is a LAN Express AS
driver version 7.4.2.15

the card begins functioning again after i roll the system back with a system restore. i believe i have the latest drivers as i updated the laptop and the wireless adapter recieved an update when i used the vaio update program

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Philsafc,

welcome to Club VAIO..

If your Vaio has an Atheros Wireless Lan chip, there is an update dated 04/02/2008, have you installed the Wireless LAN Driver (Atheros) 7.4B - 7.4.2.15 update.?

Does the Vaio Smart network window appear when you turn on the wireless switch.?

If not try going to Start, then all programs, then Vaio Control Center..

In Vaio Control Centre double click Network Connections and Vaio Smart Network..

Does this allow you to connect.?
