Hi Bianca,

Either way it would appear that the advice given to you was incorrect, which is not very good service at all..:smileysad:

SOMEBODY TOLD ME: BUILD OUT THE KEY-BOARD - USE CONTACT-SPRAY - CLEAN THE CONTACT................

O.K. FINE ! BUT IS THAT RISKY - OR EASY TO DO ?.............

DON'T WANT TO TURN IT IN FOR REPAIR REALLY...........................

IT'S A VAIO PCG-K215S.........................

If anyone needs the PDF of how to install the keys correctly let me know through my e-mail. I managed to get a brand new keyboard but this was after immense pressure and pointing out I had reported the wear key problem 2 months after purchase. Vaio Links policy is normal wear and tear as a result of use has to be reasonable

What Vaio you after? There's a guy on ebay selling Vaio Keyboard keys for 99p each on ebay.co.uk. They're for the VGN-A417M. Other various, full, keyboards for Vaio's are about £10 on there at the mo so it's not an expensive fix

ok yer lots of ppl are having this prob. thanks again to bianca, thelamus n kee-lo for all your help ..

yer 5 keys should be enough as only the A, O N, M keys are worn ...so far

in the future if they are so tight maybe i will invest in some special gloves.

Hello again

Maybe my turn around of 3 days was a fluke, maybe I was just lucky. In my job as a computer technician, I process the return to manufacture of Acer and Sony laptops. Acers generally take about a week and a half on a quick job, so when my Sony came back in three days I nearly fell off my seat! Mind we don't see many Sonys in for repair, so I can't really comment on whether this speed of turn around is the norm

hhmm even so ..i dont really want to have the hassle of packaging my vaio n sending it off to them.

seems a bit silly for 2 or 3 faded keys lol

if u are a technician who does this kind of job (or atleast i think) does that mean you could get hold of some keys for me?
or not your department?

id be most grateful its just sony say its wear n tear so id have to give them money for some keys .. thanks

Dan.
