Xircom cardbus ethernet 10/100 +modem 56..32 bit

Hi.
When I plug the said Cardbus into my Sony VAIO PCG-C1VE,running win xp sp2,I get. SYSYTEM MESSAGE, "FIRMWARE ON THIS SYSTEM IS NOT CONFIGURED TO ALLOW THE CARDBUS CONTROLLER TO RUN IN CARDBUS MODE...OPEARTING SYSTEM WILL CURRENTLY ACCEPT ONLY 16-BIT (R2) PC CARDS ON THIS CONTROLLER".Please HELP!

Looks like the controller can only handle 16bit PCMCIA cards, which will be difficult to find now
