XL201 cant detect my Sky HD remote....I just want to watch/capture TV????

Sony support dont know what's wrong. perhaps the IR emitter/dongle is broken but when i try to setup MY TV the vaio sees the TV via S-video but cant detect the remote automatically or manually.
I just want to record TV from my Sky DVR so dont need to change channels. Is there a workaround? How can I watch TV without setting up My TV.

BTW Windows MCE is really frustrating so far.

Same problem here!!!! I use a Sky HD box from Sky Italia manufactured by Pace model DS815NS. But this model is not listed anywhere in MCE! and I can't control my set top box from MCE
