I was wondering if someone could help me on this matter. I believe it has already been raised in the past, namely by Jeff, however subsequently there was no further information or help given to him in reply to his post.
I used Sony support website to download an updated driver for Bluetooth, however unfortuantely it did not function. I tried to revert to the original Bluetooth driver, but everytime I tried to put the power button on Bluespace NE did not recognise this, and as such kept asking that I switch the power button on.
Subsequently I have done a factory recovery install and formatted my drives, and when I switch the power button for bluetooth windows starts looking for a device called UGX and there is no driver on the internet, or on the computer drives. I have tried the Application / Driver Cd's and no joy.
I am at my ends wit, and really would appreciate someones help. PLEASE
Thank you for your assistance in advance.
Contact OLIVER who is fully aware of the UGX / Bluetooth problems for the following thread. If you get palmed of with the same excuse "Never heard of this Problem" BELIEVE ME, its an ongoing problem, and a standard problem with some of the Z1 laptops!
Hope this helps!
Where can I find Oliver?
He's in Sony Ireland Alexi
If the problem has occurred after updating the bluetooth drivers then try the solution from www.vaio-link.com :
Solution 22321
Description:
After having updated the Bluetooth driver (version 5.1.2535.0) on my VAIO PCG-Z1, bluetooth does not work anymore.
Solution:
The Bluetooth driver (version 5.1.2535.0) is already preinstalled on the VAIO model PCG-Z1. If you install the updtaed version on the pre-installed driver, it cause problems. To resolve the problem, proceed as follows:
Re-install the Bluetooth Virtual COM Port.
To re-install, make sure the bluetooth power is turned ON and run the setup - This will prompt to uninstall first. When prompted to restart, turn off the bluetooth power.
To install, turn off the bluetooth power, exit BlueSpace NE and run the setup again - When prompted for file location, refer to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.
Check in Device Manager if there is an error regarding Bluetooth VCOMM Port. If there is, please follow the above procedure. You can find the setup on C:\Drivers\BluetoothDriver.
Thought all you fellow Bluetooth users may be pleased to know that SP2 for XP will add native Bluetooth support to XP  , however its Microsoft's first attempt so lets hope they've leant from others mistakes.
