Z1XSP - DVD/CD problem, after only a month! Any ideas? :(

I bought myself a Z1XSP a little over a month ago and I love it. That was until last night when it decided to stop reading CDs, DVDs, whatever! I was in the middle of ripping my CD collection to MP3 when it decided to stop spinning. Now when I open and close the drive, instead of getting the little whirring sound I get 3 beeps and that's it. My system can still see the drive and the device manager tells me it's working properly, but when I put a CD/DVD into the drive it doesn't read it, it just beeps at me 3 times.

Anyone with any ideas on this problem, or has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to take it down to the Sony Centre to have it looked at but as I am currently in Sydney (Australia) and I bought it in London, it's NOT covered by warrenty! Great, just great.

You'll have to wait until you're back in London and have Sony Europe collect it.

Just a quick update. Took it to the Sydney Sony Service Centre and they confirmed what I dreaded, they think the drive may be faulty, but aren't positive as I'm going to wait till I get back to London to have it checked out. ie. Opened up.

This has just convinced me to buy the extended warrenty as soon as I get back! :!:
