Gapless no more

I have just transferred "The Greatest Hits 1966-1992" by Neil Diamond from CD onto my NWZ-A15 Walkman, using Sony's Music for PC, and gaps have been inserted in the audio at the CD track markers. The music was a concert performance which plays continuously on the CD but not from the NWZ. If anyone is interested, the songs Red Red Wine/I'm a Believer/Sweet Caroline/Soolaimon play continuously from the CD.

While the NWZ gaps are short, they interrupt the listening, which makes the transfer unacceptable. In my earlier post, I reported that Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells 2003" also was plagued with gaps from what should be a continuous performance. I had to transfer the music again using Media Go, which does not suffer from a gap problem.

Am I to understand that Music for PC causes this problem? If so, is there a cure for it? Or do I have to go back to Media Go to transfer my CD music to my player? And if Media Go doesn't work properly in Windows 10, must I use an older operating system to successfully use Media Go?

Really, this whole thing is outstandingly stupid and impossible to use. I am faced with buying another player for compressed music, or carrying a CD player and bunch of CDs around with me. A lot of my music plays continuously and contains track markers, and the CD player (a Sony Walkman product) has no difficulty playing the CDs without any gaps, so why do we get gaps when playing compressed music? Sony really ought to know better and make better products.

Many thanks. I can't remember why I downloaded Music Center for PC, but it probably followed advice from Sony to do so, which turned out to be bad advice. I hope Sony continues to support Media Go on all platforms. I hate planned obsolescence, and it is not just the cost of buying another player that bothers me if mine becomes "no longer supported". It is the hundreds of hours it takes me to transfer my music (140 GB of it) to any new player.

Thanks again, I will uninstall MC for PC.

Hi Colchemy, thank you for updating the thread. BTW, I would contact Sony directly with all of those ideas. That way you will insure that your feedback gets delivered since this is a user based community.
