Headphone cable quality between MDR-1000X and WH-1000XM3

Can anyone please tell me if Sony changed the quality of the headphone cable supplied with the WH-1000XM3 in comparision to the MDR-1000X. The MDR-1000X cable looks much thicker and slightly longer than that of the WH-1000XM3? (well at least from a pair I purchased) I was going to sell my MDR's and was wondering whether to keep the thicker or thinner cable? or is there no difference in sound quality?

I think the difference between the two cables is only on the outside. The audio quality that can be carried by both cables should be identical.
