MDR-1000 X

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had the same issue as me regarding the brackets snapping?

Within 6 months 1 bracket was showing a hairline crack, 6 month later both brackets have properly cracked.

They still work and sound great but the noise cancelling effect doesn't work as the headphones can no longer push up against my ears, they just sort of sit on my head and rest over my ears.

For almost £300 I think this is pretty poor.

I've also read that this has happened to quite a few people so maybe there is some sort of solution Sony can offer? If anyone has had any experience with this issue i would be gratefull for any information.

Thanks.

It might be best to contact Sony support here.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes,

Hi,

So they replied asking me to send my £300 headset in the post to them with proof of purchase.

Honestly, i don't feel comfortable just posting my headset when all I need are 2 new brackets that I can fit my self.

Not sure what to do now.

Hi Boyc_22,

I believe the headphones need to be repaired. It's better and safer to send them to Sony than to try and fix them yourself.

I found the number of Sony central services online, you can contact them to arrange the repair. It's 01656867347.
