NWA-300 possible firmware bug in 2.00.02

After doing this update: Firmware Update to Version 2.00.02 | Sony UK

The bluetooth seems to continually connect and disconnect and crash. The earbuds are remembered as being previously paired. The only way I can get them working is to remove the previous pairing and re-pair from scratch. That isn't quick and needs to be done each time I turn on the walkman. Needless to say this wasn't happening prior to the update.

The system is Android 13

An awful response from Sony. Despite the fact that Earfun headphones worked fine before the Firmware update, they aren't raising it with the development team but instead telling me they don't care:

"With reference to your enquiry regarding Sony NW-A306, as long as it works fine with the Sony headset this seems to be a compatibility issue with the headset as we, unfortunately, can not guarantee the functionality with all the third party devices.
