Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones

I have WH-1000 headphones. They are about 6 weeks old. However I can not switch them off and they cycle through the following messages 'power on' , 'Bluetooth pairing', 'power off', 'power on', 'Bluetooth pairing', 'power off' etc. It does this randomly changing the sequence, with the occasional 'battery at 70%'.
