Hi there

Sony nor Amazon has never stated that the SRS-X77 is compatible with Amazon Echo.  And according to Amazon HERE its not officially in its certified speakers list.

However having a look at the specs, the SRS-X77 does seem to support the required bluetooth protocols for echo to work - A2DP and AVRCP

I am unsure if this is relevant to the SRS-X77, but Amazon has "Note: Echo Dot does not support Bluetooth speakers that require a PIN to pair."

I can only really refer you to the manual for the SRS-X77 HERE: Page 12 for Bluetooth pairing and HERE for Amazon's instructions on how to pair.

Cheers

I've tried setting up with Bluetooth but it only finds my ht-rt5!

i can only use them x77 via audio input which then doesn't allow multi room! Thought these speakers were supposed to be easy set up!

the app to use multi room is rubbish anyway but now the x77 is more or less obsolete!

will there be an update so that the x77 gets into 2017 or is it fit for the bin once I'm refunded for it!?

Hi there

I am not a Sony employee, so I cannot tell you if there is another firmware on the horizon.

These speakers are generally easy to setup, however if you are trying to get them to work with other devices that they are not designed for, then.... well you might be in a world of hurt there.

Unsure on why the Songpal app is rubbish for Multiroom as you have not specified why.

I can escalate this thread to Sony Support on your behalf if you would like?  But I wouldnt pin my hopes on Amazon Echo support/compatibility though

Cheers
