I've been using WH-CH500 for half a year already but 2 days ago the microphone of the headset stopped working for no apparent reason. I hope someone will offer a solution...

I don't get an error. I get nothing.
You will not like to read it at all but, especially since this aid is remote, what is easier to suggest is a System restore. But you will have to reinstall everything.

I remember that prior to experiencing this problem I had another one - a slow PC boot on SSD. I remember that they gave me a link to install an update that otherwise couldn't have been installed through the regular Win 10 update process. It fixed the issue of having to wait for 5 minutes for Windows to start but it could have led to this problem. I'm not going back to the old problem. That's for sure, though.
I think of bringing the matter to the Windows forum. I think this will be a better solution than system restore, and I'll definitely won't reinstall Windows for a problem with one microphone. I can always use another. The problem is that it is not as convinient as using the headphones' microphone.

I'm still trying to resolve the problem with people from Microsoft. I'll let you know when the issue is solved. The other thread is located at:

I was able to troubleshoot the problem myself. It appears that either the Bluetooth usb adapter was faulty or Windows couldn't find the proper drivers for it. I bought a new Trust adapter, which let Windows install the needed drivers for the headphones and the microphone.
My faith in Sony is restored.
