Homestream causing internal error code 7

Hi

Sony Homestream can cause an internal error code 7 on Windows XP Home on startup. After a period of working without any problem this error occurs and disappears when Homestream is removed. The Event Log confirms that Homestream is the cause. Please has anyone else experienced this error.

My workaround is to remove and reinstall Homestream but it doesn't solve the problem and the error occurs again after a period

Regards

Hi there

As Homestream is built on the Serviio code/platform, I have done a search on their forums and came up with a couple of links for you.

Basically, changing the TEMP directory to something like C:\temp\

Anyway, read the links below and implement on Homestream

Hi Quinnicus

Apologies for the delay in acknowledging your response.  Error code 7 was caused when the Tune Up tool of Bullguard antivirus was used to remove the TEMP files.  The location of the TEMP and TMP files was changed to C:\TEMP after removing Homestream and manually clearing the WINDOWS/TEMP folder and the Serviio files in my local folder.

A restart of Windows and reinstall of Homestream seemed to work OK.  Removal of the TEMP files using the Tune Up tool mentioned still generated error code 7. On balance, I decided to abandon a Homestream LAN and use a usb drive containing the files.

An additional cable has been run from the Satellite dish and connected to the Bravia's inbuilt Freesat.  This gives 'On demand' for BBC iPlayer.

Thanks for your help.
