VTX D800U Freeview box won't come out of standby mode

My Freeview box put itself in to Standby mode. In the Troubleshooting section the manual says: "The indicating light is Red • The receiver is in standby mode • Press the l/1 button on the remote control to cancel standby mode"

Any suggestions as to what to do when pressing the button on the remote control, or the on/off button on the box itself doesn't work?
Thank you

Hi Clive,

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Are you saying you've tried pressing the l/1 button on the remote control to cancel standby mode and it's not resolving the issue?

Best wishes,

Sean Mc

Hi,

Yes, that's what I'm saying. It is frozen in Standby mode and pressing
the button on either the set itself or on the remote control doesn't activate
it.

Mmmmm, what does that mean - that I've given away that CliveyBoy17's name is actually Clive? How do you know that's not a bluff? I'd have preferred a solution to my problem rather than an instruction on online community group etiquette. Or have I missed something?

Hi @CliveyBoy17   It looks like a moderator removed your telephone number etc. for you. Nothing to do with etiquette, just safeguarding. Sorry I cannot help you with your problem, however you may get some help by contacting Sony Sony UK Support . Apologies if I upset you in any way.
