Myou SONY XA ULTRA updated and I cannot send group messages
@KYQ care to tell us what application? Is it the standard SMS app?
Just open the app, start creating an SMS, look at the top right you have a + button, press it. Select the parties involved in the conversation and send the message.
Does this work?
This was before the update. After the update something happened and this is not found. I believe that something in the settings I have to enable
My Group messaging is also BROKEN!! Xperia XA (F3115) In the standard contacts app there is now no option to create groups, or see already created groups let alone send a group email or group text. These were all available in Marshmallow and were my MOST USED phone features - and the features that decided me on buying a Sony XA in the first place. Yes I can still send a message to multiple people through the standard messaging app BUT it relies on my memory to make sure I don't forget anyone on the list of people I send emails/texts to regularly (my lack of memory is the main reason I set up the groups in the first place!)
Bring back Marshmallow!!! Wish Sony hadn't decided to "fix" (yeah, right!!) what wasn't broken!!
I ora have have the same problem as well. I do not know what to do. I had no help with from support! 😢I JUST STOP STOP USE MY SONY XA ULTRA. I use an old one I have that I can make my job. I will never again buy a SONY MOBILE
I did but I couldn't find one to make my job
I'm sure there is a bunch of apps out there that can do group SMS, just Google it and try.
It's a pity that Sony has seen fit to force me (and no doubt others) to move away from the stock apps that come with Nougat. Kind of seems counter-intuitive if you want to increase market share!! I've also read about lots of other issues that Xperia owners have had and I'm worried that they'll be the next problems I'll find. Have also had lots of crashes with Facebook and Facebook Messenger since the change to Nougat.
I've had a look at quite a number of 3rd party apps for messaging but haven't found one that does exactly what I want it to and I'm very wary of downloading and trying an app that I don't know if I can trust. Any suggestions? Also need one for Contacts - again, any suggestions?
If not, any idea how I return my phone to Marshmallow???
No one is forcing you or other users to install apps, but that's how Android works! You need something done so you make use of the flexibility in your OS to install apps that will suit your needs.
Downgrading requires downloading an older firmware then flashing it to your phone using a program called Flashtool. You can search on Google for other forums with detailed guides about this (probably XDA-developers).
