Everyone said that the update is coming by the end of October.... It is the end of October now..... What i am saying is its really hard to believe that even people linked with sony ericsson dont know more specific details than this..... I do understand that it will depend from market to market when each and every person receives it..... But most of us would be happy if we knew the date this long process will start.... I know that most people dont want to give a date with the fear of not being able to deliver on that date.... But i am sure sony ericsson has planned date by now.... a date that they are planning to release it if everything goes to plan....

Please can someone tell me that date.... Coz right now i spend more time here trying to find out if its launched or not.....:smileysad: i get up every morning thinking yeay it might be today to have my hopes crushed..... I think 75% of the time these days when the update will come.... we are soo into this coz our hearts still beat for sony ericsson... thats why we are soo curious and wanna know when its coming..... so plz be a bit more specific and give us a bit more info than saying end of October.... will really appreciate it if u guys do that.....

Panya: What a joke. SonyEricsson doesn't know when the SonyEricsson update written and uploaded by SonyEricsson will be available to SonyEricsson customers? That sounds suspiciously like a LIE.

yeah its so annoying that SE doesn't know when all the updates will come to all the countries or maybe they just don't like people to expect but its better that you expect on something than nothing

I am sure someone actually does, but they are ordered to keep it quiet for reasons unknown, but I can definitely hazard a few guesses.

By the way, USA should not be among the first to get any update, you guys just got the official launch like a month ago. Quit complaining about it. Some here have waited for at least 6 months.

i have the update, it's great:

+the power control bar has been chaned (from only having a wi-fi button, bluetooth, gps) to accomodate 5 buttons

:wi-fi, bluetooth, gps, allow updates of background apps (mail, twitter, facebook etC), and screen brightness (it's uglier, but quite usefull)

+the xperia flashlight application still works

+the live wallpapers are really nice

+there is a 'papya farm Hd' app, it's a knock-off for that zinga game, farmville

+the sync actually works properlly

+the voice dialer nailes it more often know

+you can install adobe reader

+your phonebook can include contacts from skype and gtalk

BUT

-you cannot manually link facebook profiles to contacts from your phonebook!!!!!!!!!

-HD recording is very sluggish - almost unusable (the same thing is on the vivaz), it jumps frames quite a lot - still, the continuous autofocus is cool

-skype for android is really bad, almost unusable - and uses a lot of resources, so one app that I was desperately wanting to install after the update is off the list

-angry birds is not that great

-timescape is not visibly faster

btw...

the update was not available in my zone (south africa)

had to flash it manually with a nordic 2.1 firmware

hi im also in south africa, cant wait any longer how did you manually flash it, is it easy im no tech expert is there any steps i can follow to get it

Hi guys, after Update my x10 to 2.1, I have any problems: 1) I can't download app from Android market 2)my phone hangs a little. If anyone have thease problems?

Hv u tried turning off and then turn it on again? If you had tried this, it still doesnt work w the download from Market, you may wanna do a hard reset. It happened to me a few days ago.

If you are patient enough, you might wanna wait a few days to try again without doing a hard reset.

Before doing hard reset, backup your stuff.
