Backing up Text Messages

Hi All,

I would like to back up all my text messages to my computer.

I have ran the Backup programme from the Sony Ericsson Pc Suite, but am not convinced it is backing up my texts.

Is there a way of doing this?

You can archive your sms on PC suite and view them without the need to connect the phone.You cannot however restore these messages directly back to a phone but you can save them to your PC as individual text documents, which in turn can be transferred back to the phone.The texts cannot be backed-up into PC suite's back files, I'm afraid.

When I go into the text message section of the PC suite, not all of my texts appear. It seems to be hit and miss of how many texts it displays.

How do I get to view all my texts?

Are all these texts in phone memory, as PC suite will not show sms stored on the memory card?

I believe they are in the phone memory

There might be a limit to how many PC suite can display.How many have you got in the Inbox and in the Sent messages folder?

Alot, probably about 1500 altogether...

And how many of these does PC suite display? The limit may be a thousand, but I'm not sure.

The number it displays varies.

At the minute it's only displaying 7! Normally it shows lots more than this (but not all)

That doesn't sound right.Perhaps you don't have the latest version of PC suite or you need to delete and re-install the application on your PC.
