Battery drain in flight mode

Hi,

I'm sorry if this topic has been discussed several times but my battery issue is annoying me a lot! Even if I put my SP in flight mode, I lose about 1-2% per 40 minutes without STAMINA mode. I went through few threads where this discussion had taken place but that was a problem in Android 4.1 version. I'm running on Jellybean. I have disabled almost all the useless apps still the battery drains like crazy.

For example, if I use my phone just to browse through the menu for 2-3 minutes, I lose about 3% charge in 5 minutes. What is wrong with this model?

Please guide me as I have no clue how to get this fixed. Will be really grateful if anyone guides me properly how to fix this annoying issue!

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I don't face sudden battery drop issue. My battery percentage lowers pretty fast in flight mode. Can you help me?

Thanks!

While on flight mode are you using your phone?

No, not at all. I put my phone in flight mode, disable almost all the useless apps like Sony Select, Hangouts etc and there are no third party applications running in the background. I lose more than 2% charge per hour without turning on the screen.

Thanks!

I charged my battery to 100 % ; after 1 hour it was at 98% .

Google services - 39%

Screen - 22%

Cell standby - 10%

Android system - 9%

Media server - 9%

Phone idle - 6%

Android OS - 5%

Ok, google play services, check this answer

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Xperia-Z-extreme-battery-drain-by-Google-Services/m-p/7...

Sony Mobile Communications would like to provide an update in response to the recently highlighted concerns regarding excessive battery drain on some Xperia models running android 4.4.1 or higher. We have identified that the root cause of this is related to the latest version of Google Play Services (4.4.52).

Until a new version of Google Play Services is provided by Google we urge users to either uninstall the latest update of Google Play Services (might limit use of Google Services like Youtube) or go to Settings > Google (accounts) > Ads > Tick the box for Opt out of interest-based ads, and also disable back up of your data by going to Settings > Backup & reset (Personal) > uncheck the box for “Back up my data”.

But my Play Store version is 4.8.20 ;  the link which you've provided talked about an earlier version of Play Store.

Anyway, my battery is being drained very fast. If I use my 2G for some time, for every 4 minutes, 1% battery drops.

What do I do?

Thanks! Slightly_smiling_Face
