Just check these settings in your phone

Tpa Settings and check under

Wireless Networks make sure both WiFi and Bluetooth are not ticked

Accounts and Sync that Background Data and Auto Sync are not ticked

About phone>Software update that Auto Search is not ticked

Then turn off the phone leave it a minute, restart it and put it on charge for a couple of hours

After turning off the phone, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds. I found this little extra step works.

Basically you have a number of variables with battery/charge problems.

1) Is it the plug unit -  to eliminate this see if the phone will charge whilst attached to a pc.

2) Is it the USB cable - do you know anyone else with a Xperia phone to test with their cable.  If not go into a mobile retailer and ask if they have a demo model that you can test the charging ability.

3) Is it the USB socket in the phone - if this is the case neither the plug or PC will be able to charge the phone and the pc shouldn't be able to see the phone.

4) Is it a battery issue. - same as number 2, ask a friend if someone has same phone or go into mobile retailer and ask if you can test your phone with their demo model battery.

It could be any one of the above so you need to start narrowing down the possibiliites.

My theory (and 3 cents worth) is that it might be the duo ICs in the battery. Remove the battery for 30-seconds yet?
