the issued is resolve. but months later?
experiencing the same issue all over again.
and its gotten worst.
months ago.
my LCD went dead not displaying anything (after it fell off my hands). but the phone is still responding. i can still hear text messages coming and still charge my phone and i can still restart the phone by clicking POWER BUTTON+VOLUME UP BUTTON. but the display wont respond. i only get black screen. i went to a Xperia Shop to get it fix (i believe they get my LCD replace) and the issued resolved.
months later.
im experiencing the same issue all over again (but this time i didnt fell or anything). a week ago. my phone just go blank screen time to time even im still typing a text or browsing or playing games. last night? the screen just went dead on me. no display. but still responding. i can still hear text messages coming and still charge my phone and i can still restart the phone by clicking POWER BUTTON+VOLUME UP BUTTON.
my question is what is the root cause of the problem?
is it because of SOFTWARE ISSUE? BATTERY ISSUE? HARDWARE ISSUE? or please specify?
and is there a cheaper solution to this problem?
or can i still resolve this issue?
THANK YOU!
So last Sunday while I was browsing the internet using data connection my xperia suddenly shut black without any warning, shutdown screen or whatsoever. I thought it's just a form of refresh or hybernation so i tried to turn it on again. it turned on but immediately shuts down again when it shows my wallpaper. My battery was 60% so it's impossible that it's battery ahs drained. I charged it anyway and it switched on again like nothing happend while it's still charging. When I charged it to 100%, I can finally use it normally only UNTIL the battery comes down to 80% where it shuts off again without any warning.
Now the next day I wasnt able to use it the whole day cuz I was out. When I came home in the evening I tried to charge it. It opens but on the startup it closes again immediately. The orage light taht shows that its charging blinks, and after a moment it wont show light anymore though it's plugged which I presume means that it's not charging anymore.
On wednesday I brought my phone to xperia center at SM Dasmarinas, Cavite (Philippines). I told them that I guess it's the battery but I asked them to check. They said that they will get my phone, get the battery replaced for P2,500 or more or less 50 USD and they will contact me if there are otehr problems with my handset. Later that night they texted that I can already get it the same day but I dont have time anymore so I only got it yesterday (which I told them in response to the text).
When I came back yesterday i thought I'd get it immediately but they let me wait because theyll still charge my new battery. so i dont mind as long as my phone is okay. they gave me the phone with 46% battery. I paid for the given price, and it has one month warranty. (Just FYI i got my phone less than 2 years ago, Aug2012 and I dowt want to replace it yet because i want z1 compact which i cant yet afford by now. Now because of this issue Im thinking twice if id still buy xperia)
I thought it was already okay when later that day i noticed it shut down twice. during the night i noticed that it carries the same problem that it shuts down when the battery goes below 80%. so last night before i sleep i charged it to 100% and i want to observe what will happen. i left the phone turned on by my bed and when i woke up this morning it wont turn on anymore again! I cant even charge it and it dont show that its charging because theres no orange light that signifies its charging. I know i can replace my battery again immediately because of warranty but what if that's not really the problem?
now my question is, will i get a refund of my payment in case that they had wrong diagnosis of its problem? i asked them to tell me if there are other problems and they just replaced the battery. what if that's not really the problem i dont want to waste my money with nothing.
another question, in case they knew what the real problem was, will they fix it for me for free because i have paid for the battery already? i hope so!

But it would be best if you just go back and tell them.
just a timeline of this shhhht.
April 27 - phone shuts down without warning
April 30 - brought phone to xperia support center, cashier said they would replace the battery and check the phone too if theres something wrong aside from the battery
May 2 - got the phone, paid 2.5K Php (about 50 USD) for battery replacement ONLY. cashier let me wait to charge the phone before giving it to me. wow.
May 2 evening-may3 - phone shuts down again without any warning until the next day it wont turn on anymore
may 7 - brought back the phone to xperia.
may 7 - got it from xperia after watching brick mansion
may 7 - the phone shut down without any warning shortly after trying out wifi and editing a note (in less than 10min). barely even used it
may 7 - brought back the phone to xperia, PJ (the technician) said he would observe it because it's unusual since the battery was already replaced. he assured me that it's battery. it's my first time that the technician talked to me personally. he surprisingly asked me (1) if the phone dropped, i said no. (2) if i got it wet -NO. (3)if i play games on it... WOW. my phone was with you for the longest time and you didnt notice that my only game is POU?! lol... and why ask me these only now?!
now the whole time there were two women who serves as cashier, i guess, in the store. the service is really annoying, the treatment to the customers is far from being nice and courteous. one of the cashier is the one who's passing me the advise of the technician and she's really annoying, letting me wait until she responds to my question. DOESNT EVEN LOOK AT ME STRAIGHT IN THE EYE WHILE TALKING TO ME the whole time these things are happening. acting like they are selling street foods. no sign of courtesy AT ALL. acting like they know everything then when they cant answer a question anymore, they will say that it's the technician who knows those things. cmon why not bring me to the technician?!
may 13 - went back to xperia to check my phone, the cashier girl said "still waiting for parts to be delivered." I clarified to them (like what i always did everytime i go there) that i want refund if ever battery is not the problem of my phone. i said it's really disappointing that ive come many times (my house 1 hour drive away from this store) already but they cant still fix my phone.
may 21 - most annoying day EVER in my life. I went back to get my phone and i talked straight to the technician, which is relieving because i dont want to talk to taht girl anymore. the technician asked again if the phone dropped. wow...
they let us (im with a friend) wait for really long time again, really wasting our time, not even asking us to even sit in their monoblocks lol so we went out to another store to buy something til we went back there again.
when we went back the cashier talked to us and we were really annoyed cos as always, shes sitting in front of her computer, doing something while we were asking her what will happen if the phone shut down again unexpectedly. she explained that it's already their second time to change the battery and with this i interrupted. ONLY SECOND TIME?! IT'S MY FOURTH TIME GOING BACK HERE AND YOURE TELLING ME IT'S YOUR SECOND TIME TO CHANGE THE BATTERY. WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THE OTHER TIMES THAT I BROUGHT IT BACK AND YOU DIDNT CHANGE THE BATTERY?! she gave a really annoying look and sigh as if annoyed. its really obvious that she's fighting the urge to quarrel with us lol. she said they're "diagnosing" it. oh yeah, diagnosing.
"maam it's not that easy to diagnose the problem, we cant tell the problem right away upon getting it"...
so you need me to come back four times to diagnose it?! what if my original battery is working properly and you replaced it?! here it's obvious that she really tried to explain with the best of what she knows lol (i wonder where is that technician. cant see him again, as antisocial as he is) the cashier said that when it got broken again they would try the old broken battery (the first time that they said my phone's old battery is broken. i clarified it to her and she said the technician has his device to tell that my battery is not working. so...ok.) then change the board to see if it's really the board. so we settled with this and may friend and i roamed around the mall again.
Not more than 15min has passed and the phone shut down again so obviously i would bring it back to the store. my friend said something about full memory and phone shutting down so i tried to delete some of my videos and phone messages before it shuts down again after a couple of seconds. the third time i tried to do it i cant turn it on anymore so i went immediately back to xperia.
when i went back to the store the cashier referred me to pj (guess she cant defend herself anymore) and he said "ok maam if it's still broken you can just get a refund if you want"..lol he gave up finally and disappeared like what he always did after referring me to the annoying cashier. so i said to the cashier that ill be getting a refund and nope, she didnt respond as if she didnt hear anything. she went to her desk writing something because someone bought an item (yes they will be nice when you bought a phone), then to her pc...then after some minutes... "yes, maam?!" ..oh come on, if i dont have such a long patience i would shave the head of this girl so i repeated that i will get a refund. i handed the receipt, she gave me the 2.5K php and i immediately left the store. i dont even know if it carries a new battery or the old one.
now this is the funny part, when i went down the escalator i saw the cashier girl running after me. her face looks welcoming now i wonder why...when she reached me she said with a trying-so-hard smile that she forgot to ask me to sign something AND PJ, the technician said that she shouldve gave me only 2000 because 500 PHP is for service charge. wow. DOES HE KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I WENT BACK TO THAT STORE?! i asked... she chuckled and said i should ask him. what a chuckle, makes me sick. so i went back, very eagerly gave the 500 php such a shame to me not to give it...and signed the documents. i asked her if it's ok if i would take a photo of the papers and she said yes. I USED MY PHONE. I WONDER WHY IT'S WORKING NOW. and i clarified if the technician's name is PJ and her name is marjorie...she said marjorie is the other girl and yes, pj is the technician.
REALLY COOL ENDING: not sure but i think my friend is right. it's about the phone's memory because IT'S WORKING PROPERLY NOW. doesnt shut down unexpectedly even once. screw them!!!!!!!!!
how much did you spend? just delete message history/files & unimportant files then download clean master to delete all junk files. this will boost your ram and free internal memory space. it solved my problem and my phone's still working PERFECTLY up to now. how's your experience about their service right there in dasma?
