No,you cannot do anything if the touchscreen does not work.If you try to repair,you will lose internal data anyway...
The only tip I have is by using an OTG-adapter where you can connect a mouse and open your phone from here. Thereby, you can make the needed changes by removing the pattern lock for example or perform a back up in the pre-installed back up & restore application.
Note: In order for this solution to work, you need to be able to activate your screen by pressing the ON/OFF button.
When you send your unit to a service center, your data will be wiped at the service center. But if you want to reset your unit on your own, I suggest that you perform a software repair on your unit via Update Service:

Download and install SUS, follow the instructions that appear.
