I have a w580i which I purchased 3 years ago directly from SE and it included a pedometer/sport feature. My phone is dying so I bought a at&t branded version of the w580i but it doesn't have the pedometer feature. Is it possible to copy the pedometer app from my old phone to the new one or download it from the web?
http://www.umnet.com/download-software/8074-SE_Walk_Mate_V1_18_Motion_Sensor You can download it from this link; you just need to register first (free).
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. However from the looks of the web page and the comments there it appears the app isn't a SonyEricsson supported app which is what I'm looking for.
Besides that I really, really dislike at&t and would love to get rid of their splash screen and the group of apps they include in their version of the w580 and replace them with the original SE apps from my old phone including the pedometer program. Do you know of a way to copy the apps from my old phone or otherwise get the code from the web?
What do you mean it isn't a SE supported app.? Did you try to install it?
I didn't download it because the two Fail comments on the page; it also looked to me like it was a freeware hack and not the pedometer program that came with my original w580.
Guess my real question is can I get the software off my original phone and load it on the new one and replace the att stuff.
The only way I know you can do that is to debrand your new phone with a tool such as Omnius and then update with the generic software which will include the original Walkmate app.Only thing is, you will invalidate the warranty so it's your choice.
