Cant call or text?

I've just purchased an xperia x10 second hand,it was on o2 and worked ok until i put my o2 sim card in,it wont let me text or make calls but the internet works fine,i spoke to o2 and they advised me too update the software in it too 2.1,I have also checked the settings with o2 and sony ericsson,but still no joy.Can anyone help please ???? or have i bought a dud phone????

It could be that it isn't compatible with your sim card.  You could ask your provider for a new one or possbily try someone elses card in it to see if that works, even pop in to an O2 shop and see if they have a sim in one of their test units and try that in your phone or try your sim in their display X10.

hey john, i have the same problem as you, cant call or text but internet fine.

i have tied everything, including contacting network to see if handset was blacklisted but all seems fine, repairing phone with seus, other sim cards in phone, same problem.

when i try to make a call it beeps and says (call ended).

please let me know if you have found a solution to this annoying problem.

i cant take back to store as i bought this phone of a friend
