cant view pictures

Cannot view any of my pictures when I go into the gallery, it opens the app fine, but instead of seeing my pictures there a grey boxes where the pictures should be.

It's frustrating, as I can still take the photos, but as soon as I attempt to view them, I cannot see them, if I click on the grey boxes, in the hope it will load a picture up, it just comes up with a loading sign, until I get bored of waiting and exit the application

Would really appreciate any kind of explanation/tips for what to do!

Is it only with the gallery, or is it also with apps like Sketch or Pixlr Express?

Have you tried clearing the cache of the Gallery app?

Do you store the photos on internal memory, or micro SD card?

Just in gallery, and tried to but not worked.
Stored on a SD card

Try settings-apps-all-media storage,force stop and clear data.If you have the thumbnail issue,check this topic:

Is your microSD card working fine? I have seen you accidentally ticked a solution,do you want it undone?

Yeah SD card is fine as far as I'm aware!
And yes, please!

Is the same occuring through Album app?Did you restart your device after clearing data for media storage?

Album app works fine, except when you try to set the pic as the wallpaper, and I prefer using the photo app rather than album, and yeah I restarted it, but hasn't made any difference
