Contacts Not visible some times

My Xperia Z is experincing a strange problem. some times all of a sudden all the contacts as well as call log also not visible. If  I got to the contacts it shows contacts setup.

Sometimes after some delay it shows up again but some times i had to restart the phone. this is very uncomfortable

open the phonebook > settings > filter > select whatever you have stored the contacts

phone app > menu you will have the option to show or hide the call logs
