Hello,
I had this problem for some months now:
My phone loses the home-WiFi connection after I don't use it for some hours. Sometimes it is reconnecting normally. But most of the time it doensn't. All other devices (Sony Z3 for example) are working fine.
In the settings I can see that it's stuck while requesting an IP address, or there are authenticating problems. Or it just says WiFi is disconnected. (random)
I used to fix this whith restarting the phone.
Recently I reset the Phone, because it would delete app icons from my home screen after reboot, when apps are stored on sd card (reset worked for this). Also I hoped this would fix the connection problem.
I noticed that something backuped my WiFi settings, so resetting didn't solve this. Is there any way to reset WiFi settings only?
Also I found a solution without restarting the phone:
- Turn airplane mode on
- Turn WiFi on and wait (I still have to verify that is does obtain an IP address)
- Turn airplane mode off again, when WiFi is connected.
Is this a known problem? Any help?
Thanks in advance!
I will definitely do that if it happens again.
Luckily the problem disappeared, but I don't know when exactly...!
It startet about one half year ago. When I was at home a lot it became really annoying.
At some point I deactivated my WIFI adapter constantly (for 2 weeks maybe), then I didn't care, because I didn't check my phone anyways, so 3 times a day I acitvated (and deactiveted) the airplane mode.
Then a month ago the problem was just gone. I have done nothing.
The phone behaves now as it should. Connecting to saved networks automatically.
Unfortunately I cannot help you others with any information on how to get it fixed.
(No Updates, no uninstalled Apps, no settings changed...)
I'm sorry for that.
But I wish you all good luck!
