I have a very strange issue: I migrated from the gmail app to the standard email app with my emails, so I can have the notification on the lock screen. The problem is, that if I delete some unread email, the lock adds these to the number of unread emails.
For ex.: I deleted 5 unread email from my phone, I deleted the unread email from the deleted items, so basically the email are gone. On the lock screen I get the notification that I have 5 unread email. Because I deleted these email, there is now way to get them back and mark them read.
Any ideas?
Have you try disabling the notification from bothe emails?
No, but it's a good idea. I have 6 email accounts set. So you are saying, that I should disable and then reenable notifications?
try to disable all and choose only one account that will show notification. cause as i see, the phone is having a hard time giving the exact notification for each accounts due to multiple opened notifications. so try disabling all and choose one account that you want your notification to be seen
The thing is, that I don't have the option turn off the notification for the lock screen for each email account. There is only one setting for the lock screen: email notifications on/off. I have the option to turn off the notification for the sound and the icon in the top of the screen, but that is working fine.
By the way I tried it, but it's still the same. I will probably delete all the email acounts and try to reset them again.
so it means that all your accounts have the same email message from the other ones?
No... Where did you get this idea?
just asking..lets wait for moderators or xperia support to answer this problem..
If removing the accounts and adding them again didn't help you could also try clearing data for Lock screen under Settings -> Apps -> All.
If that doesn't help it might have to do with the number of accounts. As i understand it you were using the Gmail app before to view all your emails? In that case you could enable POP/IMAP in your account on www.gmail.com and then add your Gmail account in the phones email client and see how it works. Under Settings on www.gmail.com you can also setup your account to import emails from other accounts.
Thank you Rickard,
I already deleted and added the accounts again, and now it is fixed. However I think it is still a bug that needs to be fixed.
