Yes that solution work but only for a few days... looks like after the kitkat update we have to be restarting our phones every couple of days in order to keep it working... what a piece of useles thing!

If you are having to do this on multiple occasions then you may need to look at running a firmware repair.

Please note that performing these steps will delete all user data except for your media files (photos, music and video).

If your handset is able to be powered on and unlocked you can follow the below steps to back-up your personal data prior to running the repair.

Backing up your handset

To back up your phone using PC Companion
1. Go to Support  to install PC Companion on a Windows computer.
2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard.

Running the software repair

Please ensure your phone is powered off and not connected to the PC when you begin this process. You are not required to connect the phone until after step 10.

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
