Exchange ActiveSync synchronization fails when Power Control widget disabled sync once

How to reproduce:

1. Use the "Power Control" widget to disable the "sync".

2. Enable the sync again using the widget.

3. After this, the Exchange sync'ing fails all the time.

I manually check:

"Accounts & sync"->"Background Data" == TRUE

"Accounts & sync"->"Auto-sync" == TRUE

And then go to:

"Accounts & sync"->"my Exchange Active Sync account" -> "Sync Now"

This just show the "syncing icon next to the checkboxes for Contacts and Calender" like less than a second in a flickering way...

I tried to go to flight mode with no help. I sync over 3G and over WLAN as weell. Have no traffic to the Exchange server at all (checked the for the Microsoft TMG gateway logs simultaneously). When is the ETA for the first update on Xperia Arc?

Best regards,

when your exchange account fail to sync, are u able to sync other accounts(google,facebook, etc)?

are you able to access the internet via your mobile browser?

does restarting the phone helps?

i know these r standard questions, but they do help us by eliminating the odds

Yes, internet is up. I am able to browse internet. And send/read email on my gmail as well. I can sync facebook and start the facebook app of course.

When I go to "Mail" and click "Refresh" the "loading symbol, syncing" icon up on the header line (where the email address is shown) just do not show. Nothing happens and the outbox is not emptied (that is sending any email).

A reboot fixed this issue. But that is a _no go_ answer for me really. I tried to go to flight mode (thought it could reset it enough) but did not help. Do you know if I can kill any background service in order to "force" a restart?

there's a different, cleaner way to restart. however, to be abe to run widgets that can do that means u need to root your phone.

and u can root your phone without unlocking your arc as well. just use gingerbreak. look for it in xda-developer arc development forum. once u root your phone, u can use many widgents tha can restart your phone. one of them which i aways use is switchpro widget. fully customisable and w whole lot of functions to use.
