Google Play Service hogging up the battery

Recently, I noticed that my phone overheats for no reason even when it is on standby and the battery was draining more than usual. I've checked the power manager and found out that Google Play service is draining up the battery more than the screen. My Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) is running 5.0.2 and the Google play service is 7.5.71

This is odd, do you have any smart wear or tracking devices connected to your phone? Do you use navigation or fitness applications?

I don't use any tracking devices nor any navigation or fitness apps.

All we can try is clearing its cache:

- Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Google play services -> Clear cache and restart your phone. Test battery for one more day and report.

ayub99 also let the battery drain down to around 10% and let us know what is using the highest percentage of battery then.

Made the battery to 3% and battery usage shows that Google Play service used 13% of the battery.

But, I un-installed and re-installed the app and it solved the problem. Slightly_smiling_Face

@,SophiaW issue resolved on google play services..It was the mobile radio active time. This has dropped by 60% now.But now Android OS has taken over as main user. Will screenshot later when battery gets down to below 10% at the moment it has had 4 hrs 5 min and 15 seconds of radio active time since last charge.Battery on 33%/at moment
