How can I delete an icon and an icon page?

Hey all,

I would like to remove some icons I don't want, and also remove an icon page that is completely blank but still there. I don't just want to move them, I want to get rid of them. I couldn't find the answer in the user support.

Icon or Widget?

If icon, it's automatically removed once you uninstall its application, or you can try to remove it manually, press four square button (the right), click on "arrange icons" (only installed application icon that can be removed, original icons from phone cant), just press on "X" to remove it. It's the same with widget, but for widget, click on "arrange widget". Hope this can help you to solve your problem Slightly_smiling_Face

Once the page empty from icons, the page will be disappear, to move the icon from its position or page, just press the icon still and move it to desired position or page.

Hi,

Thanks so much for your help.

Unfortunately my empty page is still there even though there isn't anything in it Slightly_frowning_Face

They were icons I was trying to get rid of, and even though they came on the phone I think I can get rid of some of them- I'll try it and report back

Thanks again for your help, fingers crossed.:smileyhappy:

No luck!

I went in to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications and then selected the ones I wanted to get rid of, and all it would let me do was "force stop" which did nothing! There were no other options in the applications I tried to manage to uninstall.

The empty icon page is still there too, at the very back when I am in 'edit icons', it won't go away.

I also tried to drag the icons like the pc companion said, and that didn't work either- I can't drag them away even if I drag them to the left with the right page being blank, they won't go away! The phone cam ewith stupid icons like 'gold rush' and I will never use it Slightly_frowning_Face

Thanks for your help all the same, I appreciate it

Hello there, you can't get rid of the apps that the phone came pre-installed with you have to live with them sadly.  You can move them to the end of your list so you don't have to scroll past them each time. The only way to get rid of preinstalled apps is to root your phone  but that is something that we can't help you with on this forum. If it should interest you have a look over on XDA Developers or Android Forums.  This will invalidate your warranty on your phone.

Your other alternative is to use something like ADW launcher if that is available from the market in your area.  One of the benefits of this is that you can set up an app drawer group to only show the apps that you use, so whilst you can't uninstall them you don't have to see them.  Have a look on Youtube for ADW launcher, there are some good reviews and it will give you an idea of how to set it up.  I also use an app called Home Switcher to switch between Sony Ericssons home launcher and ADW and then set it as default.
