I have upgraded from a Sony Ericsson C902 to a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. On the C902 when the phone was on silent you could set the phone to vibrate when a text message/call was received.
I cannot seem to find out how to do this on the Xperia X8.
Can someone please help me with this?
Thanks
Is it set as one of your four corners on your main screen?
Lol, yes the envelope is the top left corner. However when I press it it takes me straight into text messages that I have received/sent and when I press menu/options the left of the 3 keys on the front of the phone at the bottom all it says is delete several, there are no other options.
I wonder if this is a difference between 1.6 and 2.1, I am assuming you are on 1.6 still. In 1.6 I think you can get to some settings via Settings>Sony Ericsson and there may be messaging in there.
I would recommend downloading Handcent if you have market access. It is a much nicer texting app anyway and has lots of settings to get it just as you want it.
I am on 1.6 however right now just in the process of updating it to 2.1 - have had some problem doing it but contact SE support and it is now almost done.
Now I have updated to 2.1 I have the settings option as well and vibration is ticked, so assume this means that it will now vibrate when texts are received?
I sure hope so! Glad you got sorted with your 2.1 upgrade too.
Have definitely upgraded to 2.1 now and I do have more options under messages, I have selected vibrate but this does not make it vibrate when text message received. Any more ideas?
how do you set off the vibrate when you recieved a sms? i cant find it, my x8 is on android 1.6. appreciate your feedback guys...
Have a look in Settings>Sony Ericsson>Messaging and see if its there along with other Notification settings.
i have already checked it, but no success there is no option for it under notification, you can only choose you notification tone.
