I can't update my mini pro.

Connected it to the PC companion and was informed about the update. Switched off the phone and turned it back on. Connected the usb port while holding the back button and selected connect the phone but nothing happened. I've tried this about 6 times now and nothing.

Should the phone be asking me what i want to do each time? I thought there was an option to set the phone to automatically mount when connecting the usb cable but it seems to be gone in 2.1. Could anything be blocking it? My phone is UK unbranded and on firmware version 2.1-update 1. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, the phone will give a promt everytime you connect it to USB. The easiest way to update your your is via the Update Service at the link below which updates your phone while it is powered off

Hi Alex. I remember now that's what i used previously but i'd uninstalled it. So i ran the installer and was told that my phone had the latest software! My phone had an update icon this morning as well so what's going on? I've tried running it again but now nothing happens when i connect the micro usb port to the phone while holding the back button. Is that cause it thinks i have the latest software?

I tried it again and got the same message. When i connected the phone to PC Companion i was told there was an update but when i use the update service i'm told there are no updates.

What is your firmware & build number? Maybe yours is the latest?! By the way, the latest update after Android 2.1 can be done OTA to your phone.

I read on the blog that there is a new update as well. That's the one i assume i'm getting notifications about. I initially tried it OTA but that tells me there is an update which must be done via the computer. So i'm kinda stuck. Any ideas?

Im not sure if you actually use SEUS or PC Companion..

I would suggest to uninstall Sony Ericsson application first (SEUS and/or PC Companion) and download and install SEUS only from their site directly:

Let's see if that would work.  Let us know.

Build number 2.1.1.A.0.6 is the latest. Kind of strange PC Companion and SE Update Service showing different messages.

I am thinking whether you should try the Repair button.

That's why I highly recommend SEUS over PC Companion.. Last time PC Companion told me that my x10 mini pro is up to date but I still check it up using SEUS and got the update..
