Hey,

I'm getting a strange issue with some portrait images after they get backed up to either google photos, amazon photos or posts to facebook etc.

Basically some of the photos I take in portrait mode after they get uploaded to one of those services, the photo appears in landscape mode.. this doesn't happen for all portrait photos, only some. So they appear sideways and i need to manually rotate them back to portrait.

They also appear fine in the album app on the phone, but appear wrong when sent elsewhere.

I can't seem to figure out why this happens as it seems to be at random on some photos.

I'm not sure if it's specific camera modes.. but generally they have been shot in superior auto mode.

This has only happened since upgrading to the Z5, my Z1 never did this and i used the same auto backup services etc.

does this issue happen with other camera apps you have?

try to clear camera app settings>apps>camera>clear data

i had experience this problem before. most likely to do with the accelerometer/gyroscope of the device. sometimes it gets stuck on whatever orientation it has before you take the picture,. I did a software repair and it only happens maybe around 1 out of 100 photos

Hi,

When i take a picture in portrait mode and then add it to facebook messenger, when i view it in messenger on my phone it's rotated 90 degrees. However when viewing it in messenger on my pc the picture is in portrait mode and looks fine. Does anyone know why this is?.

Something that you should escalate to facebook's messenger developers.

Yes I know but you tell me how you do that. They are impossibile to contact. I came across a scam page today, went to report it as a scam page and all they did was give me an option to block the page..lol.

Anyway I posted on here as some of you guys might have the same problem. Very strange when looking on the phone through messenger why it is like that as on pc it's fine and also in albums it's fine...
