K810i text messaging problem

When I use messaging and write new, I cannot see normal test messaging, only the 3 options "Picture msg", "Voice message" and "Email".

The phone receives text messages OK.

I can write and send messages using the PC Companion text message facilty OK.

In the settings menu only "Message alert", Picture message" and "Push" are visible. There is nowhere visible to check the Orange phone number is correct.

I have loaded the latest software update.

The Orange sim card works in another phone with all messaging functions correctly.

I have tried and succesfully updated the software 3 times and also the master reset procedure to no avail.

I know that you've tried the SIM card in another phone and it seems OK, but it's still worth trying a different SIM in your phone, just to double-check.You may also want to check/clean the SIM card slot in the phone.

Further to your reply.

I have cleaned all contacts on the K810i phone and on the Sim card.

I have installed the Sim card to another phone and it works OK.

I have also installed the Sim card from the another phone into the K810i and it works OK.

Re-installing the Sim card into the K810i, still gives the same problem of not being able to see the text messaging service.

Definately a mystery?

So are you saying that with a different SIM card, the K810i works fine with no messaging problems or messaging menu items missing?

Yes, but the Sim card which doesn't work correctly in the K810i, works in other phones OK.

That's certainly a bit of a mystery.Is the other SIM card (which works fine with the K810i) also an Orange SIM?
