Keep application passwords and user settings after upgrade

Hi all,

On my Sony Ericsson xperia 8 after every firmware and android upgrade I have to retype all account settings like username and password for every application. Is there a way to prevent this? On Android phones of other brands lke HTC and Google you don't need to do that. Is there some setting to enable on a Sony Ericsson to prevent this annoying behavior?

Hi,

No, we do not back up login and password from a security perspective, since the backup file is not encrypted with a user selected password. Regardless, I will pass on your comments.

Thank you for the quick response.

Maybe I'm wrong but the Android applications don't store the username and password as clear text but they encrypte them. Therefore there is no security issue in restoring encrypted files back for the backed up applications. Also the backups are stored and recovered locally on the phone and not sent over the internet so there is no security risk in that aspect also.
