Ive always only had SE phones. The latest upgrade was the hardest decision for me. I found there was not much choice that catered for me any more.

I needed a phone that was well equiped and was small enough to fit into my trouser pocket. It seemed to all point to the X10 mini pro. So i got it. Ive had it now for 4 weeks, and there already there are a couple of things i dont like about the phone.

1. It seems that you have to have the phone on all the time for the alarms to work. This was never the case on any of my previous SE.

2. When texting you can only see 2 lines of what you are writing. personally for a phone that has querty keypad and all the other fancy text menus, its dissapointing.

3.Has the most basic camera menu i think i have ever had on any SE. You just point and shoot and thats it. no zenon flash and once picture is taken you have no menu to do anything with it

there are still things i havent tried yet so the list may grow longer. Although i hope not.

Is it me or does it feel like theres a lot lacking on this phone. It looks and feels great but for the first time i can honestly say im dissapointed.

Does anyone agree? or am i being over the top.

No you're completely right on all the points you mentioned. Having the alarm work when the phone was off is sorely missed with this phone, as much as I love it. The minimal view when texting is also an annoyance as is the language bar getting in the way!! As for the camera, it is very basic but the picture quality does look ok & I could've sworn it flashed this one time but I may have been using someone else's phone...or dreaming...or both!!

Seriously though back to the gripes about this phone: why can't we uninstall the preinstalled games & apps, why can't we change the whole theme colour or design of the phone's operating system. Basically why can't we have root access to customise the phone the way we want? I have a few more but I really don't have the energy anymore to moan about this phone as I really do like it despite it's glitches. I say this in hope that one day SE will provide an update that clears most if not all bugs.

This could've been a great little phone but instead I'm left feeling like I've found a diamond but its got a ticking bomb strapped to it
