New z3 heavier than older z3

I bought a Z3 back in October, on Saturday it was sat in the cradle in my car and spontaneously cracked; initially I thought it was the glass protector I had on it but to my horror when I got home found the glass protector in one piece and the phones screen cracked like a spiders Web. It's March in the UK so hardly hot inside the car and the air con wasn't on. I ordered myself a new Z3 and it arrived yesterday, I replaced the glass protector with the same brand and put the same case as I'd used on my broken phone and thought no more of it until last night when I went to put it on charge; it strangely wouldn't fit the charging dock, after faffing about for 20 minutes I gave up. This evening my friend whose an engineer looked at the 2 phones and could see no reason why it didn't fit the dock until I weighed them; hey presto 10 grams difference, both had the protector on the screen and out of the case.  Has Sony done a sneaky job and reinforced the screen due to a known issue. Just to make sure I got another friend who has a Z3 to come round and weighed his, 10 grams lighter than my new one. Interesting...?

That's quite interesting, could you post more info on this, actually weight the phone w/o anything on it, no SD cards no SIM cards, no protective film nor case and take pictures > post them here

Unfortunately I've sent my broken phone away to be repaired under an insurance policy. We had taken everything out of the phones when weighing them. Also placed them on a flat surface and placed a steel ruler across the two phones, the new one was definitely thicker, albeit marginally. I'm hoping Sony have realised the cracking of screens is a problem and have made some alterations; this would make sense. I've also had two z2 tablets that have the same problem; the screens cracked for no apparent reason. I'm not clumsy and look after my gadgets, I had iPhones and ipads for years and had no problems.
