I have just purchased a Sony Ericcsson T715a and I am having 3 major issues:
1) This may be a service provider problem, but I dont think so. The phone came locked to the network Vodafone. Now Vodafone has its own free internet service called Vodafone Live. I unlocked the phone so i could used my existing 3 sim card. And 3 has its own service called planet 3 (explanation for people who aren't Australian and don't know what Im talking about). Now planet 3 doesn't work, when I put in the 3 sim card, there's just still the icon on the menu for Vodafone Live, and it won't connect. Ive gone through the network settings and tried to fix this, but no luck. Is there no way to fix this problem!?!?!
2) In an effort to fix the internet problems I Master Reset the phone which I realise was a terrible idea as I lost several themes, ring tones and pictures. Is there ANY way to restore these? I thought these items were 'stock' items, they weren't like specifically Vodafone items.
3) Also I can't seem to update the phone, keeps saying update failed. Incidently, will updating the phone restore the themes n stuff I lost?
If you run the SE Update service on your phone, you may get all the stuff you lost back, providing it was part of the original generic software and not Vodafone add-ons.However, since you can't update the phone anyway and can't use 3's internet service, this indicates that your phone needs to be debranded from Vodafone.I'm assuming that you can at least use your phone to make calls and texts with the 3 SIM card.To debrand your phone, you need to use a tool such as Omnius, or you can even ask the 3 network to do it for you.
Alright well Planet 3 works now, but what do you mean 3 will debrand the phone. Can you take it in to them? And they'll do that for free? And since the internet works it seems I can update, but it says "you have the lastest software". So does that mean Im boned and cant get back the stuff i lost?
In that case, you don't need to bother with the debranding process. When you use the SE update service application you can choose to re-install the same software irrespective of whether you have the latest version or not. When you do this, you should be able to restore any features that were included in the original generic software which you lost due to the master reset.Let me know what happens.
ehh? The only way I know how to update my phone is to go into settings>general>update service>check for update. When I do this it goes searching for update ans says "your phone already has the latest software" there is no option to re-install
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/updateservice/t715a?cc=au&lc=en Follow this link to download the Update application to your PC, run it and follow the instructions choosing the re-install option. This is what I meant before. You can't re-install through the phone's remote update service but you can via PC.Let me know if you get your stuff back after this.Cheers, Chris
Forgot to say that with the update you will lose any stuff and settings that you have added to the phone memory, so back everything up.The software update shouldn't affect anything on the memory and SIM cards though.
