"You have a new MMS to download"

I got my text message notification sound and then I got this notification from the stock Messaging app:

"You have a new MMS to download"

If I click the notification, nothing happens.

I have not received any MMS messages and I cannot do anything do attempt to download any.

I have enabled automatic downloadnig of MMS messages.

There are no new message entries anywhere, just this very unhelpful notification.

Where is my MMS and how do I download it?

Do you have a data plan? Is data, not wifi, on?

Yes, I have more than 30 gigs of data left. I am using cellular data (no wifi).

After about 15 minutes I received a text message (that was apparantly just big enough to be an MMS), and I had to ask the sender to confirm that that was in fact the MMS I had not received previously. The notification did not update, as if I still had a new MMS to download.

Hi @JeffJ.

I would suggest we start by making sure you Internet an MMS settings are calibrated correctly.
To download Internet and messaging settings:

  • From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  • Find and tap Settings > More... > Internet settings > Accept.

Let us know if that helps.

Just did that. Will let you know next time I (hopefully) receive an MMS. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem but I don't have these options on my Z5...The download MMS message only comes up if the screen is locked/asleep. I don't have any power saving settings turned on though.

Settings > apps > all > messaging > clear data > restart the phone > check again.
