Hello, I broke my phone a few days ago and I have been trying to recover my data. However, when I plug it into the USB and go to my computer, a Removeable disk (E) appears and I double click it. What I get is 'please insert a disk into Removeable Disk E'. The phone works, I can tell the camera does, the screen is shattered but it does work, although the touch ability does not work. I have trying the PC Companion but I get nothing from it either.
Please help me out.
the screen might work but if the phone it's not recognize by the computer or PCC then perhaps the damage was greater than it might seem and the motherboard might be damaged.
I understand but, When i press the side button i can see a bit of the screen and the photo I have on it, if the hard drive was damaged, wouldn't the photo not load?
ok, that's different, what happen when you connect it to your PC w/ PCC? what do you see?
Via USB and go to my computer, a Removeable disk (E) appears and I double click it. What I get is 'please insert a disk into Removeable Disk E'.
When i tried PCC it just doesnt work because you should touch your phone to press connect via PCC or mass storage, but i can't as the touch doesn't work
you could buy a USB OTG cable and use a mouse, maybe you'll be able to change the settings, other than that you won't have access to the internal storage on your phone.
Okay i can buy it, however, how will a mouse work on a phone with a broken screen?
you could be able to change the USB connectivity settings.
How do I change the connectivity settings if the screen is black, with a glimmer of colours, just on the bottom left i can see the wallpaper for 1 second when i press the power button
Do you know if the screen register touch? if it does then you could use a MHL cable > connect the phone to a TV and change the settings.
