Please, can you help me?
I bought Xperia Z1 Compact 20 days ago. It was on 4.3 Jelly Beam.
Few days after, I got a message to upate my software, which I did. So, now I'm on Kit Kat (4.4.2).
For number of reasons (especially because of battery), I would like to get back to my launch version 4.3 !
Is there an easy, legally way to do that (I don't see why would that be a problem, if I like 4.3 more), and how can I do that ??
I would like to roll back to:
Android version 4.3
Build number 14.2.A.1.114
Region: HR (Croatia)
Opeater: Tele2
Thank you.
You have 2 options
1. stop by your local Sony Xperia Care
or
2. Use flashtool and look for the correct FTF file (check the XDA forum)
Thank you for your quick answer. The problem is that I can not find the correct FTF file for
Croatian 14.2.A.1.114 version.
I really can't understand why can't we downgrade, just like we can upgrade, using official Sony PC Companion program.
Sony offer us only to upgrade, not to downgrade! It should be also an easy and legal process, just like upgrading !!!
Follow this guide here to create a backup of your current firmware which is pertinant to your country - Then you can downgrade using any country generic firmware and should you ever want to pass on your phone then you can flash back your backed up firmware and your back to how your phone is now with your country specific firmware
Hi, allow me to help.
right now a lot of people are experiencing problems with kitkat. You can do 3 things:
1. Go to service centre in your country and get it looked at there
2. wait for patch to fix the problem next month
3. Manually downgrade
if you choose step 3, then you will have to manually get a firmware version running 4.3. There are no crotian versions. There's only a German, Nordic, UK, Chinese, and Central Europe version. Don't worry, it doesn't matter which region you get, you can still choose a different language. Just choose any of the above versions and flash their roms. Then, when the patch comes out, you can restore your phone back to orignal firmware by flashing the backup and update to apply patch. This way, you're only going through a temporary solution. Your phone will still be just the way you left it firmware wise. However, you will void your warranty. Only go ahead with this if you're ok with that. If you need help downgrading let me know and I'll post the links to the firmwares and a guide to help you out with backing up and flashing stock roms.
Exactly!!
They should offer all options to their customers! That's what we pay for!!
If KitKat is making my phone unstable, or if battery doesn't last long enough, like on Jelly beam, then I shoud be able to roll back to previous (stock) version with one click! Why is that such a problem?
