Hello Folks,
After buying a beautiful phone called Xperia P i was very happy , untill sony provided me with regular doseof BUGdates the so called updates. Finally i knew the so called warranty was useless when u couldnt use your phone properly on the stock shit(Frustrated for past 8 months) ,so i unlocked my bootloader and rooted my device and after trying the different mods and tweaks i guess now i have a perfect device with me thanks to Devs @ "XDA" rather than SONY.
Lag free,Super Smooth,Awesome Battery Backup.
My Device,
Xperia P

Scheduler - Sio

Since i am a heavy user this combination gives me very good performance and a Screen on time of above 4hours 30 min.
The maximum Standby that i have got is lost 1% of battery in 10 hours ie 11pm to 9am.(I do not use stamina mode ever its buggy shit)
The apps i use to save some juice are
1) CPU Sleeper(Root) -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eugene373.cpu.sleep&hl=en
2) Greenify
3) Battery Defender -=
and yes i am on 2G network and leave my data packet on throughout. this app Battery defender just switches it off when ur screen is off and ur back online when the screen is on,works better for me than stamina mode. I do not have the Lag in dialer (ppl say it lags for 10 -15 seconds:smileyshocked: why the hell is this called a phone then :smileyshocked:).
Thats all i wanted to say and once again special thanks to the devs @ XDA
Thank u
Can i use only this your suggestion without others?
1) Rom -- JB MoonBreaker v2.0 ReUp | Super Light ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258058
I only have a root (no unlocked bootloader, it's permanently blocked) so i think i can't use custom kernels. But what about custom roms? Can I use JB MoonBreaker v2.0 ReUp | Super Light ROM + Stock kernel from Sony??
Yes definately u can use the rom on the locked bootloader. Except the kernel u can use whichever thing that u like !!
Actually if u summarize this fourm all that we guys can conclude is each and every thing associated with this device has an issue.
Actually when sony themselves should accept the fact that they are unable to provide proper support to why keep this warranty lost on unlocking bootloader clauses.
Thank you! So you had the same issues as mentioned on the forum (laggy, freezing, poor battery performance..and with every update the battery drain seems to have increased)? I still doubt if I have the computer skills to change the kernel/ROM..
What's the biggest advantage with a changed kernel?
Thanks for the input! You help me more than sony does..
Yes my friend i did have all those problems with my deivce too. Laggy UI ,no smooth scroll,Buggy phone app.
And no point waiting for sony to rectify our problems they are busy rectifying the super crappy Xperia Z:smileylaugh:
The advantages that i felt after flashing a custom kernel
1) 99% times a smooth lag free device.
2) Better battery life, the stock governer scheduler is interactive& cfq it drains a lot. i am using sakuractive/sio it gives me awesome performance + negligible loss of battery in standby.
3)Many other tweaks which make the device perform better, save battery and lets ur device perform like u actually want it to.
As about the computer skills u just need to understand plain english, read the stuff written by people and be patient. Thats all the skill u need.

The JB MoonBreaker v2.0 ReUp | Super Light ROM is quite good, BUT... i have the same problem which i have on stock JB: http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/479076#479076
But on this custom rom I have 'Cyber-shot' FC.
How can I fix the problem?
I can't flash the kernel, maybe the problem is in it.
On ICS, Quick Shot/Lauch works perfect.
Did u flash the stock JB kernel provided ?? Then follow the complete procedure. did u install the Upadte 2.0. Do a clear data of cybershot.!! Clear dalvic cahe and clear cache partition. Still if that doesnt help, i would suggest u to install this Cybershot mod.

I did everything stated in your post (flash JB kernel, Update 2.0, clear data for camera app and camera update 2.0.) and the problem still exist
I have no idea, why...
When I turn camera from menu or home screen - everything is OK.
But when I try to Quick Shot/Launch camera from locked screen - sometimes it is not work.
Can you try it on your phone (several Quick Shot/Launch camera?). On my phone, problem is on 1st or sometimes maximum 5th turning the camera from locked screen...
