Screen cracked without dropping or impact

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice from you guys as I havent had a very good experience with my z3.

During the first week of having the phone the bottom left corner of the rear glass had cracked  which prompted me to get a case but even with the case on and the phone not being dropped the opposite corner of the rear screen developed a crack.

This past week the phone was  stting in my pocket for a couple of hours but when I took it out there was a crack running through the centre of the screen and the touchscreen would only work on the sides around the crack

What should I do, is this common with this phone? Because my previous nexus 4 was dropped so many times and didn't crack once just a few scuffs.

Thank you.

Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

Phone in pocket. Crouch down. Maximum force applied to bottom of phone. That would explain the small cracks. And the large crack could be attributed in the same way. I wouldn't put my glasses in my pocket unprotected so why do so many people think it's OK with a double sided glass phone???

Funny thing is I was just chilling, no crouching just sitting and I had a tapered glass protector and a pretty expensive case so I dunno man

I doubt it I want to send it to xperia care but if its not under warranty the repair bill is not gonna be fun from what I've heard and 20£ or something for them to return it.

I had the same thing about a month after getting my Xperia Z3. I hate using the nasty plastic screen protectors so got a nice leather flip case to protect it. It was also kept in my bag overnight. It was not dropped or abused in any way and in the morning tried the phone and the touch screen was only working when touched on the right hand side but eventually stopped altogether which is when I noticed a crack all the way across the bottom. Never had any issues with my old Xperia Z screen although many other people did. Loved the Z but couldn't wait to upgrade to the Z3 to utilize the HD audio. Now very dissapointed that they have this issue. Sent the phone to Sony for warranty repair and waiting to hear if it will be covered or not???

Received back my phone yesterday all resolved under warranty and a lot quicker than I thought it would. Thank you Sony I always had faith.

I have just had this happen to me with my Xperia z5 premium.  I was holding my phone in my hands playing a game before bed when my husband and I heard a little pop sound and the screen looked the same but stopped responding to touch; with closer inspection there was this hairline fracture across the bottom of the screen - that was the pop sound!

And it was in my hands...no drop...no bump...not even put down or shuffled, it was...I have no idea...but I am so cranky.

The first thing I did once we noticed the crack and put two and two together with the sound was look at my husband and say "great, there is no one in the world who will ever believe that a phone screen just cracks on it's own".

I was listening to a podcast at the time, could this be a heat thing?? It didn't feel very hot but I have no idea how else this could have happened?

Is this something ANYONE else has had happen?  I have never heard of this with other phones..like EVER!!??!!??
