should I buy Sony ericsson xperia pro?

So I have the Sony Ericsson xperia mini pro sk17i. And im very happy with it. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. But I've seen the Sony ericsson xperia pro, and as far as I know, the main difference is size and look. Should I sell my mini pro and get the xperia pro? Is it worth buying? What are the main differences? Including how the pro feels compared to the mini pro. As much information as possible please. It will be greatly appreciated Slightly_smiling_Face

You should get for June 12th Sony will announce new Xperias, probably the new 2012 mini/pro and Pro.

At the end it's up to you which phone you get, what work out for one person doesn't work for another, same goes with their experience, you can see a user that had really bad luck or really mixed feelings about an Xperia and you can read the opposite. just ask yourself if you really want another phone with physical qwerty or if you prefer a better screen or better camera, etc

both phones will get ICS but since this phones don't have enough RAM and sony added a heavy UIX it will be laggy.

I guess i am well able to answer your question, my son owns an Xperia Play, my wife has a mini Pro and i myself have a Pro :-).

I love my Pro, and everytime i try to use the mini Pro of my wife, i put it away. I do have strong hands, and the phone is simply too tiny for me. Other than that, the mini Pro is also a very good phone, no doubt.

But the screen size of the Pro makes it so much more convenient to browse the web, my wife will always take my phone for that, never mine. The camera is also a lot better, and i love my HDMI output to watch movies on hotel TVs, from my phone 🙂 !

The only thing missing in the Pro is a dual core processor and more ROM, sometimes the phone start to lag seriously, if i do have too many apps working at the same time (especially Skype).

I will go for the Xperia Pro II on the day it will hit the market !!!

Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face I think I'll wait till June 12th as you suggested as Im not in a huge rush. If they do make a new pro, I'll probably buy it. Just hope they make it dual core and if possible change the buttons to touch sensitive. Just wondering if they'll sell it at an affordable cost because I want to sell the mini pro and put some money towards the pro/pro2.

Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face I was wondering about the single core and if it's enough. I know the mini pro's also single core, but I thought maybe it's worse on the pro as it's bigger. One question though, does the size of the memory card Affect the speed of the phone?

I also believe the Pro has a bigger battery capacity than the Mini Pro.

I still don't believe Android OS and Android apps are particularly well optimised for multi-core for it to make much difference, especially given the price at which you can get the Pro now too. The amount of ROM is not really an issue either, as there are many ways to get your data onto the SD card instead. Perhaps more RAM though would be better if you do a lot of switching between apps (this is likely the main cause of any "lag" not the cores or ROM), but even then the Pro is more than smooth enough for the price in the overwhelming majority of times that you will be using it (probably near identical to mini pro in this respect).
