Ok I switched this week form iPhone to Android purchasing a shiny new Z5.
But this notifcation is driving me nuts and I can't see a way of turning it off, what am I missing here people?
Because signal where I am varies dramtically from 4G to 3G etc so just changing rooms in my house will get me this notification.
Driving to work will get me several notifcations so its extremely frustrating, especially when it cuts in to songs etc that I'm listening too as I use the phone while running, it's also my main source of music in the van.
So you can imagine having it ping into songs every couple of minutes is frustrating, and making me question my decision to switch
Glad to hear that you got a Z5
If you get a notification when the phone regains network, it might be that you have a new voice mail waiting. Some operators sends a signal to the phone when there's a new voice mail and you will then get a notification in this case. The phone itself doesn't have any notification for signal loss or network change. Try calling your voice mail and listen to all messages and see if that helps. If not, does the notification you hear change if you select another tone under Settings -> Call -> Voicemail -> Notification sound? Note that the "None" option may not work here, try selecting another tone.
Ok it may be voicemail related,
As I do have a notification for voicemail constantly showing at the top.
But the notification doesn't disappear (yes I've listened to my voicemail lol)
Anyway of manually removing it? to see if this fixes the issue?
[EDIT]
Called EE customer service they reset my account, to remove the notification, not sure if this will solve the issue, so guess I'll have to take a trek to the shop to find out.
Sounds like the voicemail notification is stuck somehow.
Try turning your phone off and then call it from another phone so that you get the voice mail, leave a message and then turn your phone on, call voice mail and listen to the message and see if that helps.
If this doesn't help, i recommend that you contact your operator to see if they can see why you're getting this notification even though you don't have any new voicemail. It should go away when you have listened to all messages.
Edit: I see you were one step ahead of me
Not heard that notification since sorting the voice mail out, thanks for that!
Honestly wouldn't have thought something like that would have been the issue.
I can go back to enjoying the experience the Z5 has to offer now
Pict I am in the UK, I did delete the voicemail yet it stuck around.
According to EE customer service it was down to my account stalling. Who knows if they are lying or not, guess we'll find out if I ever get another voicemail.
