Hi guys,

Long time reader of these forums, first time I have had an issue.

I am actually a Sony Mobile employee here in Australia and am currently in possession of about nine different Xperia handsets. I am however having an issue with my Acro S that I just can't seem to figure out, and I'm hoping someone out there can help me.

I received my Acro S this morning, and I placed my Optus USim into the adapter and inserted it into the phone. When I turned it on, it was asking me for a SIM Network Unlock Pin:

When I go to Service>Service Info> SIM Lock, it tells me this:

My other handsets don't have the "X" next to network and they don't say "Unlimited"

I have gone through PC Companion, and selected Repair Phone and repaired it as an Acro S and also as an Acro HD, but nothing has done the trick.

I have also tried an Optus SIM card and a Virgin SIM card, but to no avail.

Anyone know of a solution?

Where did you get the phone? It seems to be locked to some operator, so in order to unlock it you will need to get the unlock code from the operator.

Hi Johan,

I receive my handsets directly from Sony Australia Head Office in Sydney. They are ocassionally Japanese prototypes but I'm pretty sure this one is a proper trade kit handset.

If it makes any difference, on the back of the handset, it has the IMEI but then under the IMEI it says "Type: PM-0210-BV AAB"

I guess I could speak to every operator until someone gives me the correct unlock code, haha!

Haha, well I suggest that you contact the Australian head office and the person handling the phones being sent out to check if he/she has more info before you start calling every operator.

the problem is that i dont owe a credit card and is now in fiji ! is there any other sites that unlocks fones for free ?

Try to search Xs++ 3.1. There is a free version I used previously to unlock my old SE phone. It actually tells everything including the Security code that I forgot. Hope this helps.
