I recently bought Xperia 10. I tried to install skype to make video call. It is not getting installed and it is saying I can not. Why???????????
Considering smartphone, it should be definately there. I want to make video call using xperia 10 and skype is the best solution. Why is it not supported on xperia 10.
This is unacceptable and not at all satisfactory
Can Sony do something about it???
Hi there. It is not supported on the Android 1.6, but is available once we get the Android 2.1 software upgrade.
Thanks. Any idea. when we will get 2.1 update?????
I'm currently using Skype on my Racheal. It is working just fine.
Depending on where you are and which telco your handset is tied to, it may take you a few more weeks to get it.
thanks mate. I am in california US.. so I hope SE guys will read this problem and will react to it with solution....else i will end up giving phone back....
When you get the update is out of the hands of Sony. It's up to your cell provider as to when you'll get it.
I didnt get you mate. You mean skype is not in hands of SE.. it is about ATT who is providing service????
Sorry, I thought you were talking about getting the 2.1 update.
Skype is in the hands of Skype, and has nothing to do with SE or ATT. Once you have Android 2.1 installed on your phone you should be able to use Skype with no problems. However, as long as you have 1.6 you won't be able to use it. Some companies are starting to no longer make apps that work with 1.6. Take the official Twitter app for example. It won't work on 1.6.
Thanks mate, but how come you are saying in 2.1 skype will work.. is there any news on that??? also, if you know tell me one thing.. that once skype will be there then how can you make video call using xperia x10.. it doesnt have front camera.. so there is no way to make video call. isnt it?
thnks for ur all reply. i m waiting for ur reply on these 2 questions...
I don't know about the technical issues of using Skype on the x10 without a front facing camera, because I don't use Skype. I just know it will work on 2.1 because that's what Skype's website lists as its requirements for Android phones:
